Lumley Castle is a great venue for your wedding with many different rooms for smaller intimate wedding celebrations as well as the Barons Hall for larger wedding parties.
I love photographing intimate 2nd wedding celebrations anywhere, theres something special when two people find true love a second time, and Liz and Tony decided after many years together, that they should make things legal!
They're such a happy couple, who met in a pub near the Quayside in Newcastle when Liz was helping out a friend in the pub and Tony was a regular visitor when he worked in that area. Tony is a big friendly welcoming chap from the south and Liz is a typical warm welcoming north east lady and their happiness was quite infectious! MORE PHOTOGRAPHS LATER TODAY!
We seemed to gel very well after I met them at a wedding fair (at The Sage I think ... ) and they later revealed that I was pretty much the only photographer who showed real interest in THEM .. so that was nice!
We caught up a few weeks before the wedding at Lumley Castle just to go through the day and share some tea and cake and it was a very foggy day when I turned up at the castle as Liz and her bridesmaid daughter Alex and her son Gavin who was giving her away, were gathering with close friends and family.
There was fun in laughter in the room where Liz was getting ready, and it was so nice that she decided to get married in a cream lace dress, even though Tony said he felt a bit awkward in a suit when he's usually a jeans and sweatshirt man!
There were tears from Liz and her daughter as I took some photographs before she headed off down the aisle to meet with Tony, but once by his side, the tears and emotion were held in check and there was a huge smile and a round of applause from their friends and relatives!
We has some time afterwards for drinks and relaxation time next to the Scarborough Suite where the ceremony had taken place and where the wedding breakfast was to be.
I captured some lovely images of guests chatting with the happy couple and as the fog had lifted a little we headed outside for ten minutes to get some portraits.
Then it was straight into speeches, some lovely food by which time additional friends were arriving to enjoy their evening celebrations.
It had been a great day for Liz and Tony, so I hope this Sneak Peek of their wedding day allows you to share their happiness at Lumley Castle.
