ENJOYING THEIR DAY ...  KATE AND JAMES DURING THEIR FIRST DANCE AT CRATHORNE HALL
Crathorne Hall weddings are among my favourites. I have said it many times before that it is my favourite wedding venue in the north of England, and it's true.
The staff and the friendly atmosphere coupled with the lovely grounds and the type of brides and grooms who choose Crathorne Hall as their special wedding venue, make it really special to me too.

Kate and her Mum Christine pinned me down at a wedding fair, at The Sage and Wynyard Hall I think, after seeing my work online from different Crathorne Hall weddings, then met me again at a QWest open day at Crathorne Hall.
Once they had confirmed there was a big gap before we met a few weeks before their special day.
It was the pre-wed shoot, and I met them at the home of Kate's lovely parents in Sunderland and also met her delightful sister Rebecca.
The rain was torrential however, so we knocked that on the head and went down the pub for a curry and a pint .. that's how I roll!
It was great to catch up with everyone, and they just wanted a great day of celebration and me to capture a day of memories for them. A few days later I met James and Kate again, completed the pre-wed shoot and fell in love with their rescue dog Ringo ... Kate so wanted Ringo to be at the wedding too, but alas, it was not meant to be!

Kate only had her sister as a bridesmaid, so I joined them in their top floor apartment and a glass of bubbly to start the day off - most unusual for me to take the offer of a glass so early, but I was on site all day and the ladies were insistent ..... :)
Mum Christine was also there and very much looking forward to the day, as was her husband .. so all was well. I left he ladies to check on James who had arrived now and was chatting with his groomsmen and guests who were also arriving. He was very cool and calm, very like Kate, just two young people in love looking forward to sharing a day of celebration with their closest friends and relatives!

Kate's beautiful wedding gown would take a little time for Rebecca to finish off so I popped downstairs again to see how James and the rest of the guests were and chat with the registrars too.
Before long, Kate was ready to go, big intake of breath and together with her father and sister we headed down stairs to be married!

There was a big grin on James' face as he say Kate for the first time by his side and beaming smiles from his best man and other guests too - she looked stunning, and James didn't scrub up badly either!
With readings and the signing of the registers out of the way, the happy couple zoomed down the aisle for a refreshing glass of champagne and a few quick portraits from myself before we headed outside into the grounds where they were schmoozing with their friends and relatives as their singer Steve Walls entertained the throng outside.

I managed to capture some lovely images before we headed in for the wedding breakfast (thanks folks!) as well as a few nice family groups for the 'southerners' .... :)
There were some tears and cheers in the speeches with laughter too, and before long we had some 'team shots' with 'the boys' and 'the girls' before the evening guests arrived, the first dance came and the dancing began!
It had been a great day of wedding celebration with a lovely couple and their friends and relatives who all made me very welcome indeed.
