HAPPINESS ALL ROUND DURING THEIR FIRST DANCE AT THE CRAB AND LOBSTER
Kate and Jordan's wedding at The Crab and Lobster in North Yorkshire was an intimate gathering of their closest friends and relatives for a wonderful day of wedding celebrations.
The young couple were like many of my brides and grooms - busy people, who lived far from the venue and relied on many people to help pull their wedding together.
Time was short and on this occassion we didn't even have the opportunity to get together for a pre-wedding portrait shoot - a key part of the 'bonding process', so that we are not strangers on the day and everyone can relax.
Kate and I kept in touch through Facebook and we managed to meet up for a cup of tea and a chat with her friends a few days before the wedding, but I only met Jordan for the second time on the morning of his wedding.
They are both pretty chilled out people, they had seen my work, followed my weddings on this blog and facebook, so they knew they could have trust and confidence in me to capture a great documentary record of their wedding, naturally.
Kate was amazingly chilled out when I arrived at The Crab and Lobster, a venue I have photographed many weddings at over the last four or five years. Kate and her Mum Joann and two of her closest friends who were make-up and hair experts were having a girlie giggle and a glass or two of champagne while Jordan was wandering about his lodge in the grounds of Crab Manor in his dressing gown.
I had passed his way to see 'THE CAKE' that Kate had told me to go and see, and what a different cake it was - a ZOMBIE WEDDING CAKE !
Zombie's also featured in the wedding speeches too, something that Jordan, whose fascination for Zombies didn't quite extend to a first dance to Thriller in full zombie make-up ... shame!
I popped back to see Kate and her beautiful Justin Alexander Bridal wedding gown from Miranda Marie Bridal in Yarm - WOW!
It was the perfect dress for Kate and I  knew she would blow Jordan's socks off when he saw her coming down the aisle.
There were tears for Kate and her Dad as he saw her for the first time, all dressed and ready to be married.
Friends and relatives of Jordan from across the south of England and Kate's from the north east awaited in the conservatory at The Crab and Lobster and, like Jordan, they were not disappointed as they glimpsed the bride for the first time walking down the aisle.
Heavy rain had threatened most of the day, but we managed to gather in the grounds for champagne and canapes in bright sunshine and blue skies immediately after the service.
After 45 minutes or so, with plenty of back-slapping, kisses and cuddles and handshakes all round, I gathered key members of the family for some quick record shots for Mums and Dad's with brothers and sisters - quickly and with a smile and a laugh, before the party headed off to the restaurant for speeches, Zombie references and the presentation of a machete (!) to Jordan's brother Courtney after his speech as best man!
Laughter had filled the room, but the band for the evening arrived from Brighton and new guests were arriving too. Time to take a 5 minute break for some quick photographs with the happy couple and their friends, before the first dance.
It was a great day for the happy couple, and a lovely day of wedding celebrations for their closest family and friends.

I'm happy to travel across the UK and abroad to be a small but important part of your wedding day celebrations.
